The spring series is scheduled for April 16, 18, 20 and 25 in Front Royal, Winchester, Manassas and Millwood, Virginia.

A second grant for the 2020-21 season was received on July 10, 2020 from the Town of Front Royal.  The Town has participated in the Creative Communities Partnership Grant program offered by the Virginia Commission for the Arts and the National Endowment for the Arts for many years.  With the completion of this year’s application, the matching grant from the Virginia Commission for the Arts is expected to arrive shortly.  Thank you to the Town Council and staff who have supported us again this year and thanks also to the Marion Park Lewis Foundation for stepping up to the challenge of keeping the choral arts alive during this difficult time.

Announcing Two New Grants for the 2019-20 Season https://blueridgesingers.org/announcing-two-new-grants-for-the-2019-20-season/ Mon, 13 May 2019 16:46:51 +0000 http://box2104.temp.domains/~blueriz8/?p=851 Blue Ridge Singers is pleased to announce the receipt of two grants this spring. The first is awarded by the Rappahannock Electric Cooperative to be used for our spring concert series, 2020. The grant was made possible by the “Power of Change” program in which REC members allow their bills to be rounded up to the next dollar each month. Because of the participation of so many members, their “small change” adds up significantly, making awards such as this possible. Thank you to the Rappahannock Electric Cooperative and its members for your generosity.

The second grant is a technical assistance award from the Virginia Commission for the Arts and the National Endowment for the Arts. The funds will be used for consultation and training to help us with the technical aspect of maintaining our website. The training will be provided by National Media Services in Front Royal this summer.

Town of Front Royal awards a grant to Blue Ridge Singers https://blueridgesingers.org/town-of-front-royal-awards-a-grant-to-blue-ridge-singers/ Thu, 11 Apr 2019 21:17:36 +0000 http://box2104.temp.domains/~blueriz8/?p=659 At the March 11th meeting of the Front Royal Town Council, the Council awarded Blue Ridge Singers a grant for the year 2020 in a vote of 5-0 in favor.  It is the first time the Town has awarded any funds to support us. The $500 grant from the Town will be eligible for a matching grant by Virginia Commission of the Arts.  The VCA grant, known as the Creative Communities Partnership Grant, will provide another $500 to Blue Ridge Singers, if approved.

The Town of Front Royal has participated in the matching grant program offered by the VCA since 1988 in order to assist local arts organizations.  Blue Ridge Singers, formed in 2009, has now reached

such major growth in audiences, budget, and performing excellence that is seemed appropriate to seek support from the Town at this time.  We are thrilled for this recognition and appreciate the opportunities it will provide.
